Valu, a leading universal financial technology powerhouse in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Wego, the number one travel app and the largest online travel marketplace in MENA, have announced a strategic partnership to make travel more accessible through flexible payment solutions for Egyptian travelers. The collaboration brings together Wego's travel marketplace and Valu's fintech expertise to deliver a more seamless and flexible travel booking experience.
Through the integration, customers can search and compare flights from hundreds of airlines and travel providers on Wego and select Valu as their preferred payment method at checkout, enabling eligible travelers to spread the cost of their bookings through flexible payment plans of up to 60 months.
The alliance focuses on removing traditional payment barriers for a diverse target audience, including young professionals, families, and digital-first consumers. Through this partnership, eligible customers can now spread the cost of their travel bookings, including flights and accommodation, with flexible payment plans from Valu.
The partnership comes at a time when Egyptian consumers are increasingly prioritising financial flexibility and convenience when managing larger expenses such as travel. By offering alternative payment solutions, Valu and Wego are empowering more consumers to plan trips without the requirement of significant upfront payments, thereby supporting the growing demand for accessible travel across the country.
This partnership arrives at a pivotal moment as digital payment adoption continues to surge across Egypt and travel planning becomes increasingly digital-centric. The collaboration reflects a broader trend of integrating travel and fintech services to create more seamless, customer-centric experiences. As Valu continues to expand its footprint as a universal financial services provider, this alliance with Wego reinforces its commitment to making high-value services more affordable and embedded into the everyday lives of Egyptian travelers.
Mostafa Tawakol, General Manager for Egypt at Wego, commented: "Travelers today are looking for greater flexibility throughout every stage of their booking journey. Through our partnership with Valu, we are giving customers more choice in how they pay for their trips, making travel planning more accessible and convenient. By combining Wego's travel marketplace with Valu's flexible financing solutions, we're making travel more accessible while continuing to deliver innovative, customer-centric experiences for travelers across Egypt."
Walid Hassouna, CEO of Valu, added: "Our partnership with Wego represents a strategic step toward expanding the reach of our financial solutions within the travel sector. By providing flexible financing for travel, we are not only addressing a key consumer demand but also reinforcing our role as a comprehensive fintech powerhouse that enables individuals to achieve their lifestyle goals with financial ease and security."
